Print Method

Winter Ponderosas is a relief print hand pulled in four colors from the same block. The block is plaster of paris with a black top coat so I can see what I am cutting.

1. I cut away everything on the block that should remain white and print the block in light blue.
2. I cut away all the areas that I want to remain blue, and print the second run in black.
3. I cut away everything that I want to be black, and print the brown "bark" color.
4. For the last run, nothing is left on the block but the surface area for printing the green of the pine needles.
